Reporting & Accountability

SARTA is committed to transparency and accountability in every facet of our operations. That commitment is reflected in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (Annual Report) we prepare, file, and publish each fiscal year.

The Annual Report provides full and complete disclosure of SARTA’s financial operations including assets, liabilities, source of funding, expenditures, programs, services, financial performance, and future plans. We invite and encourage the public, the media, and other interested parties to review these comprehensive reports.

In addition to the Annual Report, SARTA is regularly audited by the Auditor of State and is required to file financial reports with the Federal Transit Administration. Our state audits may be viewed here. Reports filed with the FTA may be viewed here.

SARTA has been recognized numerous times for our attention to detail, professionalism, and adherence to the most stringent accounting and legal standards. For the past 18 years the agency received the Governmental Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada’s Certificate of Achievement of Excellence in Financial Reporting which represents the highest award in government financial reporting.

We also received the Auditor of State’s Award with Distinction in 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2020.

Our greatest achievement, however, has been earning the trust and confidence of the residents of Stark County whose unwavering support is SARTA’s greatest asset.
