Board of Trustees
SARTA is governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Stark County Commissioners, Mayor of Alliance, Mayor of Canton, Mayor of Massillon and Stark Council of Government (SCOG).
Regular Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) Board Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month, January through October, and on the 2nd Wednesday of November and December at 5:00 PM in SARTA’s Gateway Administration Building Board Room, located at 1600 Gateway Blvd SE, Canton, OH.
Current Board Members
These outstanding public servants and community leaders set policy for and supervise SARTA’s operations.
Their many duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Approving the annual budget
- Hiring the Executive Director/CEO
- Approving policies governing SARTA’s business activities
- Approving long-range goals and annual operating objectives
- Overseeing management activities and implementation of adopted plans, policies and objectives
- Approving procurement actions and contracts
