SARTA’s Other Sustainable Efforts

SARTA’s sustainability efforts go beyond the acquisition and deployment of low/no emission vehicles. Other projects include:

• Participation in the World Community Grid Partnership which enables researchers and scientists around the globe to use SARTA’s computers when they are idle.
• Recycling programs at the system’s main office and transit centers
• Metal recycling program at Gateway
• Elimination of paper waste by installing new electronic screens at all transit centers.
• Installation of energy-saving motion detecting lights
• Adoption of technology that reduce the use of paper in our offices.
