SARTA is dedicated to developing services and programs that enhance the lives of Stark County Residents. We are also dedicated to offering assistance in the funding of other organizations services or programs. Below are grants available to Stark County Agencies:
It is our goal to work with our community partners to identify those individuals who need financial assistance for transportation in Stark County. Nonprofit 501(c)(3), whose agency budget is less than $5 million and work with low-income individuals, to apply for a discount on full fare passes/tickets on a yearly basis. This program is for 501(c)(3) nonprofits. If you are not a 501(c)(3) your application will be taken into consideration; however, 501 (c)(3) organizations, as well as organizations that help with the opioid epidemic, will be given special consideration. Organizations will not be required to purchase all passes/tickets at one time. However, the awarded amount SARTA matches will be capped at a specified amount for the 2018 calendar year. After that, they will be required to purchase passes/tickets with no match from SARTA.
This grant is offered annually each fall with applications accepted in October and awards announced in January. Submissions for 2018 have been closed.
5310 Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program
SARTA is a State designated recipient of 5310 funds. We work with the Stark County Area Transportation Study to distribute the funds to non-profit organizations in Stark County that offer Mobility programs for Seniors and individuals with disabilities.
