Communications Administrator


Description of Position

The Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) is looking for a Communications Administrator.  This position is responsible for providing graphic design, marketing and communications support for SARTA. The salary range for this position is $33,500-$49,500.

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications: 

  1. Utilizes graphic design skills to create all marketing pieces including brochures, billboards, schedules fliers and other marketing pieces and needed.

  2. Oversee SARTA’s website and social media sites including its maintenance, functionality, and updates to increase public support by explaining agency services, public announcements, rules policies, and procedures.

  3. Participates in planning and community outreach functions of the department and more specifically coordinates the marketing and promotion of SARTA

  4. Writes and develops/plans press releases and press conferences to promote SARTA in the media.  

  5. Build relationships in the community to consistently promote SARTA as an asset to Stark County, through active participation in community events and teams, as assigned.

  6. Coordinate the planning of SARTA’s employee participation at special events and /or media events.

  7. Negotiates media cost, ad placement and style with clients in given area of advertising.

  8. Provides support for the planning of and participation in special promotional events such as outreach and community events.

  9. Requires an Associate’s degree,Bachelors preferred.
