RULES FOR RIDING SARTA

No smoking
No eating or drinking
No playing of any audio device
No writing on seats or destruction of property
No cursing, swearing or disruptive behavior
No littering
No bicycles
No hazardous materials (i.e. gas cans, batteries)
No soliciting
Exact fare is required, no change will be given
Please reserve indicated seats for elderly passengers or passengers with disabilities
Do not stick arms, hands, or head out the window of the bus
All strollers must be folded before entering bus
Standing in front of standee line is not permitted
Riders under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be removed by the police
Shirts and shoes must be worn
No animals, except service animals, are allowed on bus
Do not engage in unnecessary conversation with drivers

Your safety is our foremost concern. We are committed to providing you with the safest service possible. We want to let you know some simple steps you can take to avoid injury or incident onboard our buses. Please take a moment to read this list

· Do not run for the bus. That is when most accidents happen. Slips, trips, and falls are the most common causes of injuries.

· Stand behind the white line if you are in the front of the bus. A sudden stop could propel you forward into the dashboard, windshield, or stairwell.

· Do not stand in the stairwell of the rear door.

· The bus operator must secure your chair if you are in a wheelchair.

· Keep your head and arms inside of the bus windows.

· Signal the bus operator two blocks before you want to depart, so that there is sufficient time to stop.

· Hold the handrail when you exit, particularly in wintry weather, as the steps tend to become slippery from snow and ice.

· Watch for vehicles as you leave the bus. This becomes even more important when the bus operator is unable to pull completely into the bus stop. Make it a point not to cross in front of the bus after you depart.
