Customer Service

Q: How much does it cost to ride the bus?
A: The Regular cash fare is $1.25. Passengers 65 or older and persons with disabilities can purchase a ticket from Customer Service for a $.60 fare. Click here to go to our Fare Page for more details.

Q: Which bus goes between Canton and Akron?

Q: Does the bus go to all of the hospitals and emergency statcare facilities in Stark County?
A: Yes

Q: Does the bus travel to Akron/Canton Airport?
A: Yes, Route 115 is a Canton/Belden/Airport express bus. The schedule is here: http://www.sartaonline.com/115.htm

Q: Why can't I be picked up at an intersection when I "flag stop" a bus?
A: There are a couple of safety factor reasons for this that benefits you, passengers on the bus, and traffic. It is very dangerous for a bus to stop mid-intersection to board passengers while traffic is flowing from all directions. The possibilities are there for the passenger to be struck by a car, or create traffic jams and accidents.

Q: May I board the bus with food and drink?
A: It is permissible to board the bus only if the food is in containers and not opened or consumed during the ride.

Q: Are baby strollers allowed on the bus?
A: Yes, but they must be folded down.

Q: Are pilots dogs allowed on the bus?
A: Yes, but all other animals must be in a closed, locked animal carrier.

Proline/Paratransit

Q: Who is eligible for Proline?
A: Individuals who, because of a functional disability (physical or cognitive) cannot access or use our fixed route bus system.

Q: How do I apply for Proline service?
A: You must complete an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) application, which can be obtained by calling 330-47-SARTA (72782) or by printing a copy from this website. The last page of the application must be completed and signed by a licensed physician.

Q: What are the hours of Proline buses?
A: The bus leaves the garage at 5:40 a.m. and returns at midnight.

Q: What are the office hours of Proline?
A: Reservationists are available Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Q: How far in advance should I call to schedule a ride?
A: Reservations are taken no more than seven (7) days in advance and no less than 24 hours in advance. Call as much in advance as possible within that period of time.

Q: How much does Proline cost?
A: Cash fares are $2.00 each ride. Tickets can be purchased at any SARTA Transfer Station or you can request tickets via mail or by calling 330-47-SARTA (72782). A 31-day Pass is $60 and a 10-ride Ticket is $20.
