The Transportation Department oversees bus routes and schedules, special events and shuttles, and day-to-day operations of transportation. The Transportation Department consists of the Director of Transportation, a Transportation Administrator, a Transportation Supervisor, 10 Transit Supervisors, 1 Training Supervisor, 2 Dispatchers, and 135 Bus Operators.

• Thirty-four fixed routes operate throughout Stark County Monday through Saturday.
   

• An express bus (Route 81) operates Monday through Friday between downtown Canton and downtown Akron with a stop at Belden Village and one at Arlington Road.
   

• An express bus (Route 115) operates Monday through Saturday between downtown Canton - Belden Village area - Akron-Canton Airport.
   

• Over thirty Proline buses go out each weekday.
   

• On Sundays and Holidays service is not as extensive as the other days of the week, but we have recently expanded the service. There are two buses in service on Sundays and Holidays. You can click here for Sunday Routes.
   

• For late night service, there are three Industrial Loop buses that operate from 9:45 PM until 1:45 AM on Monday through Saturday. Click here for Late Night Routes. 

During 2005, SARTA provided just over 2 million rides. Special Event Transportation ridership totaled 64,008 with fixed routes ridership totaling over 1.8 million.

Plus, throughout the year SARTA provides transportation for the public to attend local high school football play-off games, Hall of Fame Festivities, Star Spangled Celebration and many, many other special events. The planning and working of these events is shared by all of the departments within SARTA, whether it is planning the best route to washing and scrubbing the buses; all departments cooperate to make the special events run as smooth as possible.
