The Planning & Community Outreach Department analyzes current operations and explores new opportunities that will enhance the future of SARTA and its community. Planning teams are established to implement these new projects.

Recent projects are:

~ The Gateway Project: Updated the facilities at the Gateway location.

~ Gateway Roof Project - SARTA has taken a final step in the renovation of its Gateway Facility with the awarding of the Gateway Roof Removal and Replacement Project. This project will remove and replace the roof on the bus storage facility. 

~ Advance Communications: A project to install new radios in SARTA vehicles.

~ Farebox Project: Installed new, up-to-date fareboxes on all buses

~ Alliance Transit Center: Constructing a new Transit Center in the city of Alliance.

~ Danger Zone Deflectors: Installed new deflectors.

~ Trolley Project: A new look in SARTA transportation was ushered in on July 24, 2006 with the addition of three trolley styled buses. Click here to read more and to see trolley photos.
